Association Agdal
Presentation
The climate of the valley is characterized by the aridity and the winter cold.
Exiguity and parcelling out of the cultivable grounds, laid out into narrow terraces on the slopes,
also contribute to make this valley one of most underprivileged of the area.
Agdal association and its objectives
Create in April 1998, association currently gathers about twenty young girls and women and any age.
It gave itself two broad objectives:
- Formation of the rural woman and her social recognition, thanks to its participation in the economic life.
- The rise in the standard of living, thanks to generating activities of small incomes.
Developed activities
 Educational projects
* Elimination of illiteracy
The convention passed with the ministry allows the elimination of illiteracy within the framework of nonformal education, of the not yet provided education for young people. The young girls and the women of association also profit from this basic education.
* Artisanal formation
The workshop of knitting, bordery, carpet, is at the beginning of association. More than 50 young people are currently formed there.
* Medical education
The women are sensitized with the problems such as pregnancies at the risk, hygiene of the breast-feeding, diseases infantile.
* Cross and seams
The young girls are trained with the modern cut and the seam with the machine.
* Kindergarten
Children from 3 to 6 years are prepared at their entry at the elementary school of the village.
 Income-generating activities
* Poultry farming
A project of layer vaccination against the three principal avian diseases was installation dice 1997 and constituted one of the activities of association. The Régional office of installation dice 1997 and constituted one of the activities of association.
The regional Office of Agricultural Development of Ouarzazate (O.R.M.V.A.O.) supports this project, in particular by organizing, for the adherent ones, training courses.
* Bee-keeping
Twenty hives, distributed by the ORMVAO, are exploited jointly after a study trip organized by this office.
* Culture of the saffron
It makes it possible to develop the small terraces arranged in the mountain.
* Breeding of the dairy goats
A small herd of dairy goats of an improved population adapted to the mountainous areas is made up. Their crossing with alpine goats of pure race already gave vigorous young people several generations.
Formed by specialists in the caprine breeding of the O.R.M.V.A.O, which ensures also the medical follow-up, of the women deal with the maintenance of the animals. The goat's milk ensures the children a better nutrition.
* Cheese dairy
Moreover, milk is intended for the manufacture of cheeses.
The construction of the cheese dairy is finished. Dice the low setting of the goats, the material of cheese dairy (pasteurization, cupboard of curdling, refrigerator, etc…) will be operational.
